filmlover Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Figured we might as well have a thread for this since it's RDJ's follow-up to his Oscar glory. 1 Quote
filmlover Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Begins at 88% with 16 reviews on RT. Also sounds like RDJ is the easy frontrunner for Limited Supporting Actor unless the show switches to Drama (as rumored). It's his world and we just live in it! Quote
MrPink Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Doesn't feel like tons of people are watching. Personally I find RDJ's mugging to be a bit distracting but style is off the charts as expected from Park Chan Wook. Vietnamese accents are a bit off, definitely 2nd generation folks but that's OK! Good pilot though a little disorienting at the beginning. Quote
MOVIEGUY Posted April 29 Posted April 29 (edited) Park Chan-wook is directing the hell out of this. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone but the dude is just a master. I think RDJ has been really funny and enjoyable in this. Next week's episode with him doing a Coppola making Apocalypse Now riff should be a lot of fun. Edited April 29 by MOVIEGUY Quote
CoolioD1 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I read this book years ago and I loved it and the show is pretty good but doesn't hit the same highs. the book is so internal hard to capture on film but they did a good job. Park Chan Wook does his thing and goes crazy with the camera it's funny the way the show's style just drops off immediately after the first three episodes other directors cannot keep up. 1 Quote
