380-400m. The original is loved, and I think the movie is crazy enough in a good way that people will come in droves

From the early look of the number , seem like South Korea won’t be able to catch the original height but France and Italy are doing good. Italy just had 470k OD.

We have to keep an eye on Dune 2 comps as that would be optimal for this movie. Probably will beat it in Latin American markets and few european markets as well. Lose to it in some markets as well. I hope it does hit 400m OS and 600m WW.

470k euros opening in Italy (dune 2 opened with 420K but with 280k previews the day before).

 

Dune made 3.7M 5 days for 5 days + previews. 

 

This definitely should be less frontloaded than dune that was a Part II of a movie,.so people waited 3 years to see how the story ends and Need to go at the First day or previews. 

 

plus important factor: Yesterday there was a prime time match with the National soccer team + the tennis atp finals with Sinner (italian player) definitely damaged a Little bit. 

 

I feel like It can make around dune numbers for the weekend (3.5M) even with a day and and half less. 

Dune didn't grew up that much during the weekend. This seems to have a broader appeal.

Yep, almost 7M for the National team and 3M for Sinner, so a big audience.

 

The first one became like a classic here, so I'm expecting big numbers this weekend.

Curiously, Italy at the bottom of Europe.
Do you think it will do well in China? It's such an unpredictable market now.
In Japan it went badly, in Korea it was barely decent.

Spain Is too low for deadline. Should do more than that but in euros. Italy and germany seems right.

 

In france if they predictions Is good It made way Better than @Grand Cineprediction. That would mean 9.5M euros so around 1.1M -1.2M tickets with sunday, not the full week. Right?

First gladiator made 39M in france  25M in France, 21 in germany, 18 in Spain, 12 in Italy.

 

So Italy being the bottom doesn't seems that strange. It's like Napoleon that flopped in France. Sometimes people from a country are less interested by the idea of "americans doing something about their history".

 

Right now Germany Is the disappointing big market in Europe.

 

In France definitely is gonna make more than the first, in Spain too. UK and Italy are likely too.

 

Germany would Need 5x legs so seems like won't happen

Globally good numbers on Europe , better than Dune 2 in Latin America . But Gladiator 2 has much bigger competition than Dune 2 and lower WOM so expect less legs .

In Italy the first Gladiator grossed 16.2 million according to SIAE (not Cinetel which twenty-five years ago covered approximately 75% of theatres).
