So... not to beat on a dead horse or anything, but is it a given that this outgrosses Justice League WW at this point? And who the hell saw that coming?

:D I had a club for this that got shut down.  I'm still glad it looks to be happening.

Is 700 million worldwide a possibility now?

More likely than not

It's going to do $500m+ from US (~$230m) , China (~$180m) , Mexico (~$55m)  and Japan (probably $40m+).

To hit $700m WW it would need to do a bit less than $200m from the South Korea & the rest of Asia, Europe and Latin America combined.

Coco is now at $401M (138M dom + 263M intl). The remaining markets yet to open might easily bring 200M+ if not more, dom can make 100M (can be 80, can be 120, depending on how it holds against TLJ on Christmas+January) and the rest of the intl market where it's already being shown, another 50M. 400 + 100 + 200 + 50 = 750M+ following normal patterns (we have seen Mexico and China bo were abnormal, so it can even go a bit higher due to extremely good reviews everywhere, and who knows if Japan will massively go to watch it if the Frozen short is shown at the beginning).

Before Coco started being shown, I thought it could come very close to Inside Out (857M) and i stick with it. 800M+ for Coco.

Markets yet to open: Greece, HK, Australia, NZ, Italy, SK, Brazil, Estonia, Lithuania, Argentina, UK, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Japan.

For comparison, let's see how much Disney movies like UP, Monsters University, Big Hero 6, InsideOut, Zootopia and Moana behaved in said markets:

- Up: 205M

2,3 + 4,3 + 25,2 + 3 + 22,5 + 6,8 + 10,5 + 0,25 + 0,43 + 3,5 + 55 + 1,7 + 4,5 + 5,7 + 6,9 + 52 = 204,58M

- M.Univ: 240M

0,8 + 10 + 21,7 + 2,4 + 12 + 5,4 + 16,5 + / + 0,22 + 23,5 + 47,1 + 1,8 + 2,6 + 4 + 2,3 + 90 = 240,32M

- BH6: 200M

0,73 + 4,3 + 17,7 + 2,4 + 12,1 + 20,1 + 12,8 + 0,28 + 0,22 + 9,1 + 31,5 + 3 + 2,1 + 3,5 + 2,7 + 76,8 = 199,33M

- Frozen: 260 + 249 (jap) = 509M

2,1 + 2,5 + 26,7 + 4,4 + 26,4 + 76,7 + 21,7 + / + 0,6 + 11,5 + 58 + 4,7 + 7,5 + 9,7 + 7,7 + 249 = 260+249 =

- InsideOut: 233M

2,1 + 8,7 + 23,4 + 3,3 + 27,1 + 33,6 + 14 + 0,34 + 0,36 + 11,2 + 59,4 + 1,5 + 3,2 + 5,4 + 6 + 32,5 = 232,1M

- Zootopia: 216M

0,9 + 7 + 21,3 + 2,6 + 13 + 31,5 + 10,6 + 0,93 + 0,4 + 8,3 + 34,1 + 1,4 + 2,5 + 6,9 + 4 + 70 = 215,43M

- Moana: 180M

1 + 3 + 19 + 5,1 + 16 + 15,4 + 23 + / + 0,27 + 8,8 + 25,4 + 4,7 + 3,5 + 5,2 + 3,6 + 46 = 179,97M

And let's see how much Universal movies like Despicable Me, DM2, Minions, Secret Life of Pets, Sing and DM3 made in said markets (Gre, HK, Aus, NZ, It, SK, Br, Est, Lit, Arg, UK, Tur, Nor, Swe, Den & Jap):

- DM: 127M

1,1 + 1,4 + 21,8 + 3,1 + 17 + 8,6 + 13.7 + 0,3 + 0,65 + 2,8 + 32,2 + 1,4 + 1,4 + 2,6 + 2,1 + 14,1 = 126,95M

- DM2: 240M

1,8 + 4,2 + 32,7 + 5,5 + 21,5 + 6,1 + 35,5 + / + 0,63 + 18,5 + 72,2 + 3,9 + 4 + 6+ 3,3 + 24 = 239,83M

- Minions: 295M

2,1 + 10,7 + 23,4 + 4 + 26,3 + 15,3 + 37,4 + 0,75 + 1,2 + 36,1 + 72,6 + 4 + 5,3 + 7,3 + 5,3 + 42,7 = 294,45M

- Secret Life of Pets: 196M

1,4 + 4,1 + 22,4 + 3 + 14,8 + 17,5 + 19 + 0,66 + 0,55 + 11,6 + 45 + 1,6 + 3,4 + 4,8 + 4 + 41,7 = 195,51M

- Sing: 160M

1,3 + 2,8 + 21,3 + 2,5 + 10,5 + 11 + 11,6 + 0,4 + 0,5 + 5,8 + 36,1 + 0,7 + 2,5 + 5,2 + 3,4 + 43,7 = 159,3M

- DM3: 295M

2,2 + 6,8 + 25,2 + 3,9 + 22,3 + 21,6 + 38,9 + 0,8 + 1 + 23,3 + 62,7 + 3,1 + 4 + 7,4 + 5 + 66,2 = 294,4M

40M for Japan is a bit low imo. And we will have to see the Olaf short factor. Whether Disney decides to keep it before the movie or not. Remember Frozen is an enormous hit in Japan, where it made 249M bo. So, the short can be horrendous, but if japanese like it, it could help Coco to make big numbers. Not saying it will make 250M, but around 80-100m, why not?

I think the impact on the box office is rather because of SW8 than Ferdinand. It Will most likely recover and do very healthy business during the holidays

Agreed and it should rebound and unlike Moana, it's already faced it's animated "competition" and there's not other big animated film on the horizon.

Around $12M behind Moana's Domestic at the same point, though it's way ahead of Moana worldwide. Moana added another $85.8M to it's domestic total at this point, so I think this still puts Coco on track for $225-230M domestic and around $550-600M overseas

It's gonna beat Justice League. Even in my wildest dreams I didn't think that would happen months ago. Amazing!

China's gross now outpacing NA's

https://qz.com/1161335/pixars-coco-has-made-more-money-in-china-than-north-america/

That's honestly quite impressive. Its Mexico performance was a surprise but i never would have expected this. Between this and Zootopia it seems Disney fever is seriously catching on there.

Ok, so saw this a second time and I'm officially ready to call it an animated masterpiece. Went from loving it the first time but having some quibbles, to now pondering if it might just be my new #1 from Pixar, and believe me that is quite the title in my book.
