Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle | Nov 29 2018 (LA, NY), Dec 7 (Netflix) | Bale, Blanchett, Cumberbatch & Naomie Harris confirmed

Eh. The creature design looks pretty iffy. The rest of the VFX look fine, but considering how much Serkis has been pushing the realistic aspect, these are pretty damn cartoony designs.

Is Mowgli a girl or a boy in this? Could be both judging from the trailer, which looks rather meh to be honest.

Interesting. Is there a reason for that? As far as i know, Mowgli was always a boy in Kiplings works and the various adaptions.

Not a fan of the animal designs either. I have a hard time seeing this sell to audiences when the 2016 version is still so fresh in everybody's minds. A bit unfair to WB, but timing is everything in the industry.

If "Witness the darkest telling" is their way of trying to differentiate...

didn't see the other one TJB in theaters and after watching this trailer, doubt I will see this in theaters either.  Probably on Netflix, HBO or whatever if I need something to watch

This looks pretty interesting. I tend to prefer at least slightly idiosyncratic takes on properties, though.

I think this could be better than the first now that I have seen the trailer.

The main difference aside from the cheap and ugly looking animal animation is that this looks to take place after Mowgli has first returned to humankind.

It looks great with the exception of the snake and tiger. The kid actor seems really promising.

I feel as if this movie was damn near finished ages ago and the film just kept getting delayed. I think what you see is what you’re gonna get

Yeah, Serkis said this morning on This Morning that he fully finished the film just last Friday.

I don’t know how the movie will turn out, but I’m already sick of all the people who are making jokes about this movie for being advertised as dark. While I’m not super familiar with the original Kipling stories, isn’t JB supposed to be dark? Seriously, just because Batman v Superman failed doesnt mean that movies can’t be dark ever again.
