No, I can't even say they avoided the song because it "doesn't fit" because they had many weird song choices and even a sequence that was just them dancing around a penthouse. But still no Last Dance. What a waste. 1 Quote
4815162342 Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 You'd think if the third film in a trilogy about symbiotic goo monsters from space was going to introduce it's big bad space villain you'd at least send Eddie and Venom into space instead of spending half the movie wandering around the Nevada desert Quote
WittyUsername Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 I’m assuming Knull won’t be the villain of Spider-Man 4, which would mean that Sony is intending for him to specifically be the big bad of the SSU or whatever it’s supposed to be called. Can’t imagine that coming to fruition at this point though. Quote
filmlover Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 A limp and unexciting entry that might be the weakest installment in the franchise. The CGI fest action sequences are perfunctory at best, the plot makes little sense, and Tom Hardy seems to be sleepwalking through this after chewing on the scenery with glee in the previous ones (hopefully Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor received nice paychecks for their talents being completely squandered here). There's a couple of minor fun moments that emerge (Mrs. Chen, the true hero of these movies), but they're not enough to make up for this being an otherwise unsatisfying (likely) end to a series that was hardly a quality one to begin with, and also suggests that the time has come for Sony to completely give up on their attempts to build a Spider-Man universe without everyone's favorite webslinger. poweranimals Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) I'm honestly not even sure what I just watched. First of all, who was the guy that the government people captured? Presumably we're supposed to know him but I had no recollection of who he was supposed to be. And speaking of the government people, why did they spend so much time on them? They were so boring and I just wanted them to get back to Venom. You know, the title of the movie. I'm not really sure what to make of Knull. They said he was the creator of the symbiote but they locked him up for unexplained reasons. And I'm still not sure what a codex is supposed to be. I really hope this isn't supposed to be the lead in to Spider-Man 4. Kind of hard to enjoy when the story is all over the place. Edited October 30, 2024 by poweranimals Quote
