This weekend, Us will be sending another message to Disney. I'm not saying New Mutants could to do Us numbers, but there's big potential in theaters for this kind of movie.

Is Disney just sitting down to decide what to do with this movie this week or next week?

 

Or did they decide months ago? If they hadn't actually seen it until now, then no decisions have likely been made yet.

this is my most anticipated August movie since Suicide Squad (2016),

they should move another movie up against this so not all the money goes to New Mutants, Dora, and Hobbes

People don't understand how much it costs to distribute and market a film. Marketing alone can easily add another 50 Million to the cost of a film. There comes a point where you just have to cut your losses and decide not to throw away money in a lost cause.

It is never a good sign when a movie just sits on the shelf the way this one has.

And if it did open in August, it would be up against the Guilleremo Del Toro produced "Scary Stories To Be Told In The Dark" which looks like a really good horror offering.
