riczhang
I think Raimi could be an interesting choice, but it could also be a disaster with him. But at least it'd be quite pretty. (What about Cuaron? )

(What about Cuaron? ) The thing with Cuaron is. I respect him, but I have to see some of his serious films first. The only one I've seen is Azkaban. I guess he's a option because of his movie 'Children of Men', right?

ChD
Right now, Cuaron seems to fit perfectly for the job of directing it. Edit: More rumors about 'Last of Us' started spreading. According to them, Dylan McDermott is eyed for the main part of the movie. Edited June 16, 2013 by ChD
Alpha
'RESONANCE' COMING TO THEATERS THIS FALL Updated April, Year 8 Darren Aronofsky (The House of the Scorpion, Extrasensory) is well-known for his surreal and disturbing films, which is why he was the perfect choice for Resonance. Screened at South by Southwest (SXSW) in March to a great audience reception, the film has been scheduled for a release on August 31 in New York City and Los Angeles, and will continue to expand throughout September. The film is a loose remake of British psychological thriller Berberian Sound Studio, which centers around a British foley artist doing soundwork on an Italian giallo film in the 70s, disturbing him mentally due to the violent images of the film. Notables differences include the setting (now in modern-day America), and the ethnicity of the makers (now Latino). The film stars Liam Neeson, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Salma Hayek. Although many labeled Resonance as a horror film after it's premiere, Aronofsky doesn't want his film to be considered horror. "After seeing what is considered to be 'horror' in today's age, I do not want to be associated with horror." Ezen Baklattan
So Long, & Thanks for all the Fish. It is with mixed feelings that we announce Year 8 as the final year for Hourglass Pictures to distribute films. Stress, both of the personal and creative variety, has overtaken the executives of the studio, and we have decided that it would be best to just step down. It certainly didn't help that a recent film scheduled for Year 8, The Reign Of Griswell, has been draining great creative and financial resources of the studio. Fortunately, the heavily hyped sequel to the cult hit of Y5, Santa Claus: Ultimate Badass, is still in line to be produced by the year's end. A variety of fillers may also be produced. These years in CAYOM have brought so many fun memories, and unique experiences, and I realized just what a talent I had in Creative Writing. You guys are some of the coolest people on these forums. Having said that, this isn't really goodbye. I might still drop in occasionalyl to see what kinds of films you guys make, and I might be able to jump back in to make films again, although this is a bit of a slight possibility. Thank you everyone for an unforgettable 4 (and likely 5) CAYOM game years. Fortunately, this won't be the end of me. Starting this evening, I am offering up the following franchises to fellow CAYOM players. All I ask is that you take good care of them! (Well, except the ones I never adapted yet, haha.) The following adapted sources are being offered. -The Stuff Of Legend -Adventure Time -Borderlands -The Magic School Bus Also, with speciall arrangement, I would be willing to sell the rights to original franchises, namely Spark, The Terrible Plight Of Freddy Zapper, and Santa claus: Ultimate Badass. I'm not sure if this has been done before, or if it's even allowed, but I'm throwing them out there. Thank you all for some unforgettable CAYOM fun, and I hope to have more fun with you guys in later escapades. Until then, your favorite noodle is signing off. Blankments
So long Spaghetti. I'll miss you. Don't really want any of your franchises, but I wouldn't mind having a stake in Santa Claus as just to keep the b-movieverse going
Alpha
HUGE WRITER'S STRIKE OCCURING IN CAYOM HOLLYWOOD The CAYOM Writer's Guild went on strike a week ago, postponing production on many new films. This caused a major drawback in production in Hollywood, as now there are 1/3 of films scheduled for Year 8 compared to Year 7 at this point. Expect a major drop in movie attendance for Year 8. CJohn
TOTAL EMPIRE PICTURES ANNOUNCES RETURN After one year with no releases, Total Empire Pictures president John Eriksson announced that the studio is back after some problems. Lost Planet, Digimon and The Little Mermaid needed reshoots and their budgets ballooned to 170M (original 140M), 200M (original 160M) and 250M (original 170M), respectively. But John is confident. "We spent more money, but we got the movies we wanted" he said. He continued by saying that "those are blockbuster the people want to see, and we will give them major marketing pushes and major release dates". Besides these 3 problematic productions, the studio has other movies to Year 8. Godzilla and Uncharted sequels promise to bring the studio thousands of dollars. "Those are sequels to beloved first movies, and they will have more anticipation and better release dates this time. We believe both will be bigger". The studio saved around 100M by shooting Godzilla 2 and 3 back-to-back. At the Mountain of Madness is another one of the studios big gambles. It is an original rated-R movie with a 140M budget. "We have a terrific team behind that movie, and we believe it will be a huge surprise at the box office. We are expecting strong WOM coming from OW which would make it a strong player in the following weeks". Besides that, the studio has the low budget sequels Silent Invasion 3, which should make a guaranteed profit, and Killer Computer 2. The sequel to the insane cult classic will be presented in IMAX 3D. Farmville is also coming in February and promises to make some money with the families looking for something to see with their kids. But John promised more for Year 9. "Ratchet and Chris Smith will be back, and Godzilla will see the final of his story".
