Impact
Seems to be the battle of the 2 leads in Oceans Eleven :PAnyway, I say Pitt should win.
Ezen Baklattan
Paul Rudd gave one of the best comedic performances I've ever seen in that film, seriously.Represent, Coolio, represent.
Travod
I hope Gary Oldman wins <
CoolioD1
I think I shall throw out a prediction before SAG, Globes and BFCA all announce nominees in the next couple of days.George Clooney - The DescendantsJean Dujardin - The ArtistMichael Fassbender - ShameGary Oldman - Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, SpyBrad Pitt - MoneyballI think Michael Shannon is on the rise. There's a potential for him to knock out Fass or Oldman. I still think it's going to be Clooney's to lose.
Impact
Current:Jonah Hill for The SitterNick Swardson for Bucky LarsonAdam Sandler for Jack and JillWhoops! Wrong awards ;)Brad Pitt for MoneyballThe main star in The ArtistGary Oldman for Tinker...George Clooney for The DescendentsLeo for J. Edgar (Yeah longshot, but hey Jolie was nominated for The Changling)I am still keeping this post SAG.
CoolioD1
So, I'm thinking Leo makes it in over Oldman now *grumpyface*Although you never know! Bardem only got a BAFTA nomination before his Oscar nomination and Tinker Tailor is surely going to get much love from bafta. Academy also has a lot more British voters than other groups. Impact
I was refering to how you mentioned the Oldman snub.
CoolioD1
True but Oldman was also snubbed by SAG and Tinker Tailor won't go on to make 170M dollars... I think my Javier Bardem comparison was better.
Impact
True at that. (Surprise Focus didn't realize it wide this week)This looks to be a low grossing year at the Oscars-other then The Help and War Horse. (Which I imagine The Help could actually still make it even if there were just 5 noms. I can imagine a pic/director split with The Help and Moneyball)
acsc1312
Well Bardem was the early early festival winner, so he came back. This year it's Dujardin, so idk if there will be many surprises. Oldman will probably squeak in though.
rockNrollaDIM
I think is Pitt's to lose. Just feels like his year.
fishstick
Pitt, Clooney, Fass, Leo and DuJurdin look like the likeliest line-up. Don`t know what to think of that Bitchin guy who might kick out either Fass or Leo. Pitt, Clooney and DuJurdin are locked and loaded. acsc1312
Oldman!!!!!!!! He gave the best male performance I've seen this/last year. Edited January 7, 2012 by acsc1312
ravon80
This is an exciting year at lead actor because there is no clear frontrunner. Clooney has been garnering buzz, but Pitt has been too, and those are both some heavy-hitters. Then here's the darkhorse Dujurdin, who could surprise. Fassbender's victory would be the nomination, and god I hope Oldman makes it in.
4815162342
Oldman!!!!!!!! He gave the best male performance I've seen this/last year.In a just world he'd get in and be the long-suffering vet frontrunner. But we don't live in a just awards world.
