Most big films are not 95% done 2 months in in this market. OPRed still chugged along 3.5b which is 20% of its run after 2 months. But leggier films can do much more. Slam dunk is already at 3.5b and at this point will hit 4b after the 2 months mark which is almost 30% of its run for example. Even demon slayer grossed an extra 10 billion which is about 25% of its run after 2 months. And if you go to the leggiest films like frozen/your name/titanic/SA/bohemian rhapsody that number increases by a ton.

 

If it comes down to marks like 20b how it does from july onwards could definitely end up defining that as it's not chugging that fast to really be there by then. Assuming it even has potential to hit that mark to begin with of course.

I'm not sure sat is up but pretty much doesn't matter. Mario was a lock for FSS increase off friday already. There was no reason satsun would be much down from the friday number and friday is like +500M from 1st fri alone.

 

Question now is how does it perform after GW. That will be key.

I went and checked OPR just to get a baseline on how that comp will go and OPR actually had pretty nuts days 10-23. Made 2.8b the week after its 2nd sun and 2b the one after that (due to obon and giveaway). So mario will probably fall behind. Question is how behind.
