JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

You know how much it made in 2003? its $102M.So its possible! Many adults would watch this, significantly more than MU. Its really hard, but it will.

The size of the market is the same than in 2003, no inflation, no more admissions, it's a stagnant market and it could decrease soon because of its demographics. So it's extremely optimistic.

This. Japan is not a usual market. No inflation, Hollywood movies are not so predominant as other markets and legs have no comparison. It is a really interesting market to follow.

One of the goals of Abenomics is increasing inflation, so we could see substantial ticket price rises for the first time in over two decades, although at the expense of admissions.

Inflation but less admissions, particularly after the new VAT increases expected next year (8%, from 5%) and in 2015 (10%, from 8%) could mean stagnation or small decrease, it wouldn't change that much.

And as I said, the Japanese demographics don't favor a bigger market.

As a result I'm cautious, any number beyond $100m is a prowess.
