JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

ok, now that's bit more crazy. though I won't commit to over Spirited Away just yet. 25% weekly drops, (I know 2nd weekend drop will be much lower but I remember reading that second weekend hold is usually best of all), will take it to about 26Bn, which is pretty good legs considered IMO. If 3rd & 4th week drop is less than 20%, we are ONN.

Bigger than the next 2 combined (in USD). Insanity.

Japanese population skewed older, this must have done something remarkable in order to attract non-teen, non-anime fans to see it in group. I heard this anime brand before but it wasn't that popular in overseas like one-piece or attack on titan. This madness come as a total surprise to me and I just don't get how this become so much bigger that rival Miyaozaki legacy as a full blown cinematic event.

This is now a bigger boxoffice story to me than Endgame was.

I think Endgame still a way way bigger story at worldwide level, but in Japan, endgame isn't even the biggest story in 2019. So EG is not worthy to be compared with DS
