Isn't the LEGO movie opening this weekend in Japan? So it won't be appearing on the Top 10?

 

I used to work a bit in gaming journalism, and while I'm not entirely sure about the franchise as a whole, as far as the LEGO video games go, Japan doesn't care about them. At all. Of about 100 million copies of LEGO games sold worldwide, about 57m have been sold in North America, about 31m have been sold in Europe, and about 0.1m have been sold in Japan, lifetime. Though to be fair, they stopped releasing most LEGO games in Japan because they kept selling so poorly; perhaps if they released them anyway, it might be close to 0.15m by now.

 

I imagine this indifference toward the LEGO brand will carry over to the movie, which is probably why it isn't predicted to open in the Top 10, or do well at all.

Nice! Are those numbers for Frozen bigger than last Saturday at the same point? Really sad about Lego though. I knew it would bomb in Japan, but still. It's such an excellent movie.

I  think it is possible but I guess the number will probably be the same.

In my opinion, today's TOHO 2pm number should have been the same as yesterday.

However, today is 109 discount day so we can see the 2000+ from yesterday.
