it means Wom is extremely positive ....  Super

I might have to ask corps this to be sure, but I thought he said it was at 3.5 on saturday morning. Maybe we aren't talking about the same rating system. Anyway he said in Japan it takes a week to know  the real scores because the market is so back loaded.

It’s unbelievable how big yokai watch was in 2014 and 2015 now it’s popularity  completely crashed

crazy

It skews extremely young like Doraemon. But unlike that popular franchise, Yo-Kai Watch simply failed to bring in new viewers. So all those kids that watched the first film outgrew it and didn't come back for the rest of the series.

Kinda off topic but somewhat related to Pikachu but are any of you expecting big number for Mortal Kombat or the Mario movie in Japan? Mario is especially big there, wonder if its wide appeal can help it to truly crossover and be the first true video game breakout in the region.

Well I don't see what Mortal Kombat has to do with Japan. I'm guessing the Mario movie will do whatever typical illumination numbers are.

Also amazing number for Jurassic World 2. That was crazy impressive admissions and gross numbers.

BTW I asked corpse if 15B Yen is possible. She said that is absolute best case scenario but unlikely. Most probably its end in 12-13B. But Corpse tends to underestimate and so let us hope it has good run and gross 15B yen. 6 weeks of summer holidays and obon week ahead. I dont see Lion King hitting uber blockbuster(10B+) numbers either. So its all Aladdin, Toy story and local flicks.

Regarding Lion King, I think its performance in South Korea will be a good indicator of a potential breakout in Japan. These markets align quite closely for these type of musical films.

original Lion King was not that big relative to Beast and Aladdin if I am not wrong. That is why my expectations are low. But I would be happy if it break out bigger.

Aladdin was the biggest, Lion King the second biggest among the Renaissance films. Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid were too low that they didn't even make Top 100 Grossing animated films in Japan.
