You didn't see the first movie? It's one of Eisenberg's rules to surviving zombies to shoot them twice to make sure they're really dead.

Wasn't really all that interested in seeing it. I might see it when the sequel comes out.

Yes in the film, Jesse character one of his first rules is "double tap", always shoot them again to make sure they're dead.
