Biggestgeekever
If they're predicting $60+m for both, Madagascar 3 is probably on the low end while Prometheus is on the high end of those ranges.Oh wait, I just put stock in Variety's math! lol silly me

TLK
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/prometheus-madagascar-3-box-office-335330 Both Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic Prometheus and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted are off to a strong start at the multiplex, where they're engaged in a close race. Early returns indicate a $20 million to $22 million Friday for the two 3D films, and a weekend opening in the $50 million to $60 million range. wboxoffice
Madagascar 3 is going to have much bigger bumps on saturday and sunday. Plus, Prometheus had the midnights added from thursday counted in friday. Basically if they are neck to neck on friday, Madagascar 3 will easily win the weekend.

TLK
Prometheus will decrease on Saturday so it needs a better than 22 million FRI number to have any shot at 55+.
