The Stingray
I personally prefer ANOES, but I too think NN is better. ANOES is brilliant but near the end Craven loses control of the world he created. He establishes Freddy has no powers in the real world only for him to disappear into a mattress for example. The rope is there when Nancy come into the prison cell to see Ron hanged, the rules prior to this dictate, as far as Nancy and co were concerned, Ron should have been hanging in the air, no rope. The ending is also obligatory and nonsensical. NN is really clever and original, hard to believe it's the seventh movie in a franchise. Craven's a lot better at confining himself to the world he creates too. I watched Elm Street 1 last week (hadn't seen it in over 10 years), and imo it does not hold up very well. I love '80s cheesiness (I mean, who doesn't?), but it certainly made the slashers of that time a lot less scary. New Nightmare is a more confident and mature effort. Also, in the fun department I think Dream Warriors got Elm Street 1 beat. Edited April 13, 2014 by The Stingray
SchumacherFTW
I actually quite like the remake. It's far from the worst remake ever, and Jackie Earl Haley does a great job taking over the glove and the fedora.
Claire of Themyscira
Mara was bad though. Cassidy slayed, but yeah. Her role was small.
ddddeeee
PD remakes have all been greatest hit compilations but ANOES is the worst of the worst. I'd give that a 0 on IMDB if I could.

Dark Jedi Master 007
Solid assembly line Hollywood blockbuster flick it is and all.And nobody is claiming otherwise, but sometimes those are the best flicks
Dark Jedi Master 007
I'm probably going to watch them again in a few months, so this could change, but: The Kings Speech over The Social Network

As far as modern slasher remakes are concerned, my favorite one is probably The Hills Have Eyes. But yeah, Bloody Valentine is good as well. The Futurist
Woody Allen and Roman Polanski should share a jail cell.
FrozenFan626
Despite the train-wreck that is the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons was actually a very solid film.
ddddeeee
Brett Ratner is a competent director. He'll never be able to elevate a crap script but give him a decent one and he can make a pretty good movie. Hacks don't have pretty good movies like Red Dragon or Rush Hour on their filmography.
Empire
Despite the train-wreck that is the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons was actually a very solid film. I actually like both movies. Not only that, but I find the Da Vinci Code to be the better movie.
FrozenFan626
I actually like both movies. Not only that, but I find the Da Vinci Code to be the better movie. Go figure. Well Da Vinci has its moments I suppose and anything with Sir Ian Mckellan in it can't be all bad so I'll retract the train-wreck statement But still for me I much prefer A&Ds although I also thought that the book was far superior so maybe it's just the overall story I enjoyed more rather than the actual execution of the film adaptation.

Jessie
Grown ups is a great and hilarious comedy series Unpopular on the internet, popular elsewhere lol. I didn't mind Grown ups too much, it was basically an hour and a half of friendship banter.
