I think this should be now moved to the main Box Office forum.

EXCLUSIVE: Brit youngster Tom Holland is moving from his breakout debut The Impossible to another watery high profile project. He’s been cast in Warner Bros.’ In The Heart Of The Sea, the long-gestating seafaring adventure helmed by Ron Howard from a script by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond). Chris Hemsworth is starring in the pic adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick’s award-winning book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex, an account of a whaling ship that was stalked and destroyed by a sperm whale in 1820. The tragedy left the crew of the Essex adrift for 90 days in the Pacific during which they turned to cannibalism before eight survivors made it home, an ordeal that partially influenced Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick.

It’s a very inspiring combination of narrative pulses in the whale and the survival tale that was the genesis story of one of our great novels. It works on visceral and emotional levels, and while it has always been a tremendous challenge because of the water work, technology has made this more reasonable. It’s a big bet for any company, but the technology has made it less expensive than 12 years ago when I prepped a version of Sea Wolf. We could never get a budget in place and we can actually do this movie for less than that budget was so long ago.

If they start filing it in few weeks time, needing a new screenwriter to come on board so late to fix stuff isn't really a promising sign to me.
