Rudolf
Wow, Rudolf...That was um..thorough. :)Any idea why Germans don't like superhero movies???Superman was the No 4 movie of 1979, but apart from that, Spider-Man and TA all disappointed.Perhaps we mistrust SH or they simply appear funny to us. So after the ban was lifted, those movies were released but only in small scale. That's why their numbers are low. Especially Thor, since the ban started just before the summer season for movies. Captain America was lucky because it was released just after the ban was lifted. But still it could've made more. Also, the market has expanded quickly since 2009. That's why the numbers for movies released before that were low compared to the newer ones. Spider-Man, Superman, and now Iron Man are the most popular. I expect big thing from MoS. Tower
On 29/01/2014 at 4:03 PM, Tower said: An update to add in 2013 numbers (in bold): I just remembered this thread from a couple of years ago and wondered how things have changed (2014 in green, 2015 in red): TDKR: 2.712M TDK: 2.522M Avengers: 2.45M TASM: 2.351M The Incredibles: 2.185M Iron Man 3: 2.152M Avengers AOU: 2.021M Spider-Man: 1.966M Guardians Of The Galaxy: 1.901M Big Hero 6: 1.838M Hancock: 1.781M X-Men DOFP: 1.657M Tasm 2: 1.606M Spider-Man 3: 1.404M Spider-Man 2: 1.349M Megamind: 1.34M Ant-Man: 1.336M Captain America 2: 1.224M Man Of Steel: 1.216M Thor 2: 1.15M X-Men: 1.066M X-Men First Class: 1.049M Wanted: 1.03M The Wolverine: 1.016M 2014 was good, particularly for Guardians and DOFP, but with the exception of TASM2. 2015 didn't have much, and of what there was, AOU disappointed, Ant-Man was pretty good, and the new Fantastic 4 flopped just like everywhere else. Nothing in the last two years came anywhere near dethroning TDKR TDK from the top. 2016 though has a lot more promise than 2015.
