Lackluster opening for Eiffel (I was expecting an opening closer to 550k). WOM is middling but it should easily pass 1M admissions. No Time To Die was #1 again, but with a rather steep drop. Holidays should help it stabilise. 3.6-3.8M admissions (around Quantum of Solace but well below Spectre and Skyfall) should be a reasonable goal.

Julie (en 12 chapitres) (The Worst Person In the World) posted a great opening considering that it's only playing on 144 screens - Joachim Trier's Oslo, 31st August finaled with 141 424 admissions back in 2012. Julie should become the biggest norvegian release in France since Aïtanga in 1948. Boîte Noire and Bac Nord continue their impressive run. Bac Nord hit a 4.4x multi from its opening week.

Weak ODs for almost everything. Venom 2 is down 55% from Venom 1(excluding previews). It's even worse for Halloween Kills and Le Tresor du Petit Nicolas, which are down respectively 75% and 90-95% from their predecessors. Illusions Perdues, which has stellar reviews and WOM, is off to an OK start but it's selling almost half of its admissions in Paris.

I have a feeling you find most of this week's numbers weak. But at the same time the holidays begin so it is normal that the previous days are not so good. People prefer to wait 3 days to go to the movies while on vacation. I find the start of Eiffel rather good and the 2nd week of NTTD too.

Howcome only 719 shows for Halloween Kills, is that previews? Looks like a limited release compared to the others.

No these are not previews. The film was released everywhere on October 20. Indeed the film has 3x fewer sessions than Venom 2 for example. This is probably due to the bans for children under 12, because there are bad reviews and because there is no real hype for the film in France.

Why Le Tresor du Petit Nicolas did so bad? The first film was such a huge hit.

They are not the same actors as the first films. No hype around the film (actually before you say it today I didn't even know that a reboot of "Le petit Nicolas" was released). Besides, there are no great reviews. It's a failed reboot of no interest.

How is the Eternals buzz in France so far?

Pretty good. There were previews the day before last night and the first reviews I saw spoke of a good and magnificent marvel. Much more beautiful in image than other MCU films. However, there is some hype (more than for SC anyway) but not a huge hype either.

What is good for the film is that it comes out during the holidays so the first numbers will be good, but then there will be a big drop. Personally I would expect something around 2M admissions, maybe a little bit less, which is more than SC (1.35M) and BW (1.65M).

Yesterday there was a preview in France? I thought it only had the Rome festival in Italy in Europe. Nice to hear that.

So.... next weekend is the holiday in France?

2M admission is around $20M?

This movie seems to have great visual and asthetic aspect, romance,... bla bla... maybe it suits the Eupore taste.

Excuse me it was not previews, it was just presented to the French media on October 25th.

Yes the holidays started this week and they will end in a week and a half. When Eternals comes out, it will still be vacation for 5 days.

2M admissions = around $18M-$19M.

It is sure that the magnificent visual aspect can please in Europe and especially in France.

Very good figures and slight decrease thanks to the holidays for NTTD which will soon be the first film to exceed 3 million admissions in France since SW9 it seems to me. En route for the 3,5M-4M admissions.

Venom 2 starts more timidly than the first, but will enjoy the holidays. Maybe 1.5M-2M admissions in the end.

Good continuation for Eiffeil and Dune which will approach very slowly thanks to the holidays of the 3 million admissions and which will become the 2nd film to take this step since 2019 after NTTD.

The french dispatch = 1 537 entrées au Paris 14h (Nomadland = 1 598 / 125 000 - Désigné coupable = 1 688 / 148 000) - La fracture = 731 - Lui = 632 - Barbaque = 383 - Last night in Soho = 334 - Pig = 178

Encouraging start in Paris 2pm for The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson. A start comparable to that of Nomadland (550k admissions). I hope for the same result and even better thanks to the holidays for The French Dispatch.
