If anything 110 is much longer than I expected, I thought 95-100 maximum. Current blockbusters feeling the obligation to be 135-150 minutes are a problem, not a standard.

The fact that Chris Terrio must’ve turned in a 240+ page script for one Justice League movie is mind blowing to me when generally as an aspiring screenwriter you’re told to aim for 90-120 pages.

I’m not averse to films having 150-180 minute run times as long as they earn that run time. Lawrence of Arabia, Lord of the Rings and many other epic movies like that fully earn their lengths. I don’t really see an MK movie earning a running time longer than 2 hours (nor does it need to), so I’m really glad it’s only 110 minutes.

I have seen it and holy fucking dumb shit. It was rad but ridiculous. Serious but dumb. The acting was porn movie levels of bad. But it was amazing all at the same time.

Saw it this morning. Enjoyed it, it was a little too silly but I could see a sequel being fun if they decide to do one. World-building was simultaneously cool but also small and contained, can't quite put my finger on it.

So I stay (halfway) awake extra for the box office numbers (our German derby was re-installed this week) and still have to wait ;).
But it's nice that several members here quite liked MK.

And I can also recommend both The Raid films (saw them in theaters, packed, but only at a max 75, respectively 101 theaters showed it, it was dubbed here): The first The Raid film is among my top 10 theater experiences: so thrilling, so shocking at times, well played, a great score, had protagonists I cared for, great fighting scenes, even having an interesting story with twists and scenes I would not have expected...

So 11M plus for MK on Friday according to charlie Jatinder...

I saw this movie today.  I expected nothing, and that's what I got.  Just a couple hours of mindless action, violence and death.  I liked it.  And, a bonus, at the AMC Kent Station where I was, there were around 50 or so people in the theater alongside me.  So... it made a little bit of money.

It’s entertaining, but I’d be lying if I said I’d remember half of it tomorrow. It definitely needed the Kano comic relief though, it takes itself oddly seriously for the most part. I feel like they could’ve gone harder with the violence too, it’s obviously a massive step up and more faithful to the games in the gore department than the 90’s films, but it’s pretty tame compared to something like The Raid.

Also, Benjamin Wallfisch...please don’t try to bring back dubstep...His score was great, but the dubstep MK theme over the credits is truly awful.

This might actually end up having higher Friday than GvK...wtf. If this manages 50-60M total then that shows GvK in poor light.

Not really, the market is improving every week. 45 new locations opened on Friday for the first time.

We need the continued improvement.

Pandemic wise, nothing shows Godzilla vs Kong in a bad light. In fact, that film shows everything else in a bad light lol
