I'm thinking it could be some theaters reporting their numbers later? idk

Hmm, pretty close on the Hollywood movies, relatively big difference on the top 2. Both should be adjusted as the final theaters and numbers get tabulated,so hopefully they’re in total agreement in 24 hours or so. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, if the KOBIS early numbers prove more accurate than KOBIZ I’ll switch to them.

I am quite partial to Yoona 😍 So I'm gonna try to follow EXIT's performance. Looks to be a break out. Already scheduled to be released in other countries per Korean fans on Twitter.

EXIT is already at 2M admissions

https://twitter.com/CJENMMOVIE/status/1157592805679648769?s=19

P.S. Early predictions had this as a 10M hitter based from Korean reactions. It's performing almost the same with the top heavy hitters as noted by Korean media.

It's gonna be released in Indonesia on the 21st of August. Limited theaters like all Korean movies before that, only in CGV. The benefit of having CGV here is they release Korean movies, especially the big ones like Extreme Job and Parasite this year, and now Exit.

Btw Parasite is having a great run in its limited release here. It started unnoticed, only Korean lover and those who knew its Palm d'Or win were excited for it, like me. So I saw it at an early screening, and loved it, one of the best I've seen. Because this was more like a "festival film", I thought it would only be released in a short period of time. But then the WOM kicked in and it went viral on social media. Even my best friend who knew nothing about Korean movies suddenly asked me about it, so I went to see it again with him. It is now the biggest Korean movie in Indonesia with more than 450k admission. A very high number for a non-Hollywood imported film. And it is still playing right now after 7 weeks, longer than most Hollywood movies.

Oh, are you a Yoona fan too? I'm quite surprised by EXIT's performance. Really looking like a breakout is going to happen to this film.

11:20 ; 15:20 ; projected final ; projected admits (vs yesterday)

EXIT 153 ; 244 ; 353-371 ; 792k (-0%)

TDF 31 ; 53 ; 81-86 ; 209k (-10.5%)

SLoP2 28 ; 43 ; 48 ; 103k (-17.5%)

TLK 22 ; 33 ; 44 ; 93k (-10%)

Aladdin 24 ; 34 ; 44 ; 79k (-9%)

It’s still 3 PM Sunday, and first Sun for most of these movies, so nights might go a bit different than that. EXIT having a really excellent opening, should remain strong for weeks to come given reception. The Divine Fury, SLoP2, and TLK don’t seem as more formidable, Aladdin should be above the latter two fairly soon I hope.

Spoiler

@Charlie Jatinder we might be heading toward a perfect finish — over Avatar but below Endgame 😛

Pretty close, pretty close. 4 of those will adjust closer to my estimates, SLOP2 just moving farther away.

Mon PS:

EXIT 34k

TDF 6019

Slop2 7173

TLK 5439

Aladdin 7388

Aladdin looking to have a soft drop from Mon, but still its first sub 50k day. With a roughly 35% lead on TLK in PS I think it will finally come in 4th today.

What are this weekend's openers?

Last weekend was crucial for Aladdin, and it did drop very bad. Aside from competition, it may just be running out of audience (the other two musical phenomena both stopped around 10M admissions).

If Aladdin is #13 in admissions now, how is there a chance it could beat Endgame? Isn't it like #5 there or something?

Endgame is 5, yeah. Aladdin will end up at least 8th or so depending on how it can hold from here. Before EXIT I was dreaming of #3 but #5 would require a best-case scenario now.
