What I could see from watching dramas, this is the beauty standard in China and Korea. Put images in tags so that people don't have to scroll:

China

The Untamed': Chinese boy love drama we can't stop watching – Film Daily

Meteor Garden Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Renewed or Canceled

Love o2o | K-Drama Amino

Korea

How many languages Hyun Bin can speak

Song Joong Ki (송중기) - MyDramaList

Lee Min Ho, The King, 2020. | Aktor, Gambar, Animasi

So you can figure where Simu lands on the 1-10 scale. Now it doesn't mean he won't win the audience over once the movie is out. I mean, Adam Driver is a sex symbol now but I've seen comments when he was cast in SW that a dog wouldn't come to him and much worse.

Pretty much confirming that asians have this handsome/beautiful fetish thing. Simon Liu is how asians aka mongoloid race folks should look like and not the gay hairstyle with girly faces.

Well, Americans have square-jaw'd jock beauty fetish which is why we have Superhero Chrises (Hemsworth, Evans, Pratt, Pine).  Every nation has their own stereotype.

Yeah, but they are men.

Asians aka east/south east asian definition of beauty is looking like ghey and girly.

So glad Indians still like their men to be manly and not girly in looks.

People have different way of thinking. You think like that but from their point of view and standard, they don't think the same as you. And the opposite situation can happend when they look at your standard.

Did you mean your standard is superior to those people's standard???

No. Stop stereotyping other races. Don’t assume we should look like the former nor the latter; you obviously have not seen enough Asian movies Or spend enough time in an Asian country.

I mean I know you are trying to defend Marvel’s choice but I think your comment was very stereotypical on how Asians “should” look like in your point of view.

Moderation

Alright, I think we're done here. This whole debate on attractiveness with Simu Liu/Shang-Chi is already pretty silly stuff, but now it's going into majorly offensive territory. If you can't talk about anything else in regards to this movie, then don't talk about it at all.

Yeah these PS for the new promotion are wild. 50k on KOBIS vs 33k atm for this weekend’s opener, Recalled (and some 20% of those are probably for Thursday). Seems like a good chance to return to #1 3 months after release, but PSm will probably be very low so don’t be surprised/disappointed with “just” #2.

Yeah the boost is in one chain only as CGV is just at 627 pre-sales.

Yeah it’s just mega box, right? So we might get a pretty funny CGV%. But it wouldn’t show up in the daily PS anyway since event doesn’t start for 2 more days.

DS will still do over $5M thanks to holidays. It’s a fine result, just nothing exciting.

Boy I did not see the anti+gravity coming :hahaha:

DS looks quite favored to win this weekend thanks to the promotion, today has a good shot at being the highest gross day of the run.
