Wonder if the Lunar New Years Holidays is skewing the presales numbers a bit.

Regardless, that’s still amazing, especially comparing to a Spidey movie in an Asian territories.

Homecoming presales at 1am OD were 242,444. Black panther is just over 3 hours away from that point and has 370,675 in presales... This is just phenomenal. Homecoming had a surprisingly large ~550k opening day, based on these presales BP could easily top that. Although I suspect due to the holidays Black panthers presales aren't as front loaded as Homecoming.

EDIT: at the moment BP is adding roughly 1k presales every 5 minutes. So a rough guess would be that's BP should end at about 405k presales!

As of 11:31pm Korea time, Black Panther officially hit 400k in presales. Comparison to Homecoming will be suitable in 1.5 hours, looking more like 410-415k now! :ohmygod:

Presales at 1am local time:

415,759

This absolute monster of a number is 71.5% ahead of Spider-Man: Homecoming at the exact same time (242,444). This bodes well for a massive opening, don't ask me how much because I can't even begin to speculate! This looks good for a promising Overseas run for Black Panther though :D

South Korea is the only Asian market where MCU has shown absolute domination among the Hollywood franchises.

That’s why I’m a bit skeptical to use SK potential great performance for BP to project to other countries (Asia especially).

But great numbers is great news still. Go T’Challa!

Oh yeah, forgot HK. I would still say SK show more skewed results. Other franchises like X-Men and DCEU are doing very respectable numbers in HK as well.

Speaking of which, any ideas on the presales in Hong Kong, @Proxima Olive
