Von, Younger Generation (<9) consider Hiroshima bombing as fireworks /smoke out of fire &Elders as unforgettable paining history. I don't fall neither of the categories. However, Eternal Legion seems to have made a funny statement that I like nuking. Which is not a all funny to me. In fact, it has killed more innocent and civilian rather than Imperial Army. Yes, I do agree that a*** bombs has stopped Imperial Army from continuing their incivility towards Korea &China, also losing vast territories at South East Asia. But, it isn't funny to say I like nuking, I like to see replay my brain with those words. Neither, American nor any country has right to insult Japanese Integrity by saying that it's great to see nuking Hiroshima. I never had told anywhere that I want to see Pearl Harbour bombing again. We both had never apologies to each other for those unforgivable acts. Then, why should we joke about it.

Answering to Von:

Issac, could you help to share your insights, in which cases having the historical event of bombing Hiroshima in films is considered bad for Japanese people?

Younger Generation and people ageing less than 40, doesn't care what happened. We, including me, let things pass by. While Elders find it disturbing as a common saying: "American spoiling /playing with our children' brain

How much it is about the context? In other words, does it need to have always a realistic portrayal (only in documentaries?), and therefore having it in a fictional fantasy setting like Eternals, it is always bad?

It's not always bad. But, it's usually good to changed name to a unknown place, if it's just a fiction. But, sometimes, Children's curiosity can not be answered easily by their parents &teachers. Like "Why did they drop b***?", "Do they still hated us?", "Are they our enemies?", "Is it true?", "Why did the superheroes let it happen?"

Or is it a total taboo to be portrayed in foreign films?

Unless, there isn't any historical inaccuracies, like what Angelina Jolie manipulate the plot at Unbroken. It isn't a taboo but parents does not speak this to children. Because many are just ashamed to accept a truth: "Imperial Forces lost to American Planes"

Could you help me to understand in which cases it is okay to be in films and which cases not?

In case of fictional film, just replace the location without co-incidencing the reality.

In case of documentaries, delimited the letters after H********.

Thank you Issac for sharing this. It really helps to understand all this better and also the differences between generations. I can relate to some of that while growing up in a country defined by it's past civil and other wars.

It's not a matter of joking IMHO but I can't either speak for others, and I don't know if there was something lost in translation, but maybe Eternal Legion can clarify that.

Thank you, Issac.
