sfran43
^Nice increase for MM and COE. With almost $80M already, what will AOU's total gross be by the end of it's run Rysu?
Rsyu
^Nice increase for MM and COE. With almost $80M already, what will AOU's total gross be by the end of it's run Rysu? Current numbers are slightly worse than IM3 during the same point in release. Following that trajectory I think Age of Ultron should add maybe $2.5 million more before it dies completely. Well, at least it'll beat $80 million:)
eXtacy
Jeez keeps on impressing. Presales for Mad Max are higher than last Wednesday. Could we see a possible increase this weekend? Edited May 20, 2015 by eXtacy
Rsyu
Jeez keeps on impressing. Presales for Mad Max are higher than last Wednesday. Could we see a possible increase this weekend? The Treacherous and Spy, the #2 and 3 films on the presales chart open tomorrow and will likely put a dent in it's numbers. If the current number holds tomorrow then yeah I'll agree with you that a increase could happen. Edited May 20, 2015 by Rsyu
Rsyu
Wild Tales (Relatos salvajes) is also being released on the 21st. Half tempted to check it out if I find the time and a suitable screening nearby.

Rsyu
You guys are getting better than us brits at early releases these days! I read somewhere that many studios release in Korea first as a kind of test-bed run for the rest of the world since word of mouth penetrates at a fast pace here (highly interconnected networking system allows for fast word of mouth spread) I think it usually happens more for films they think have a good shot at succeeding in the market. Maybe they saw Kingsman's run here and thought Spy could do something similar. Idk, I have my doubts but we'll see Edited May 20, 2015 by Rsyu
chasmmi
You guys are getting better than us brits at early releases these days! We also get the random WTF late releases too. (Ouija and Vampire Academy both came out the week before Ultron I believe). But then we also had Ex Machina and Water Diviner in January - both of which I avoided thinking they were random bombs from 2014 USA that I'd never heard of as opposed to massively early releases. grrr.

Rsyu
Ouch, hefty drops for holdovers! But that's still a very good weekly hold for Mad Max: Fury Road. Doesn't look like it will win the weekend though. Age of Ultron

Rsyu
And 6,633 for Home... Very poor number for a Dreamworks animation, idk what they were thinking releasing it outside of the holiday frame with the target demo of children all still in school. Feeling zero hype for this atm.

Rsyu
Looking at the performance of AOU, do you think Civil War will get such a clear and competition-free run over the May 1st holiday weekend next year? Or will local movies decide to take advantage of the holiday. I don't think things will fall as perfectly into place as they did for Age of Ultron but it should still be the biggest film over that period (if it gets released then that is). It will be taken into consideration when scheduling of course, going up against Marvel is bad for business, but it won't be as extreme as it was for Age of Ultron
dropsicaldackel
Interesting results, 1st place for the weekend looks clear but the next few spots might be quite close. WOM certainly seems to be in MAD MAX's corner and it should have no trouble taking the weekend, I'm guessing around 600k. Best guess has the next three pulling in around 350k each, and if I were pressed to rank them I would say: 2 - SPY; 3 - CHRONICLES OF EVIL; 4 - THE TREACHEROUS.
