yjs
What are expectations for Frozen after the Holiday's? it seems to have gained momentum among more casual moviegoers throughout the holidays, so it will keep going strong, I assume. I still can't see it go over 8M admissions tho. 8M is the ceiling I have for now. which would be $60M-ish.
Incarnadine
So KFP territory. Can it do 3M admissions or is that too much? look at that Frozen numbers!! see big things coming. There's literally no competition out there and the Attorney's been played out for quite a while (and it's already a 9M+ film), presales rate or whatever it's called is over 55% which is quite impressive especially for a Disney animation. 3M+ admission doesn't seem like a stretch to me and at least 2M is guaranteed, I think. With a 4 day weekend coming up in 2 weeks time and it being vacation time (which actually thinking about hagwon culture here means that kids have less free time than during term time half the time), Frozen has the chance to do some serious business. I see it breaking $20M as a minimum. amazing Frozen OD! I can see it go over at least $25M now, even $30M. Thanks so hopefully 3.5-4M admissions. will be clear this weekend. next week we have one of the biggest holidays and lots of Korean movies will be released in this 2 weeks frame. The good news is they all look kinda meh, but as most of Korean films are, their production companies are tied with distribution companies/cinema chains so they will have loads of screens. If they suffer from lukewarm responses and Frozen survives through that or even benefit from the holiday season it could go over 5M. WOM is very good and it really helps it has a killer soundtrack. Les Mis was kinda like a slipper mega hit which went near 6M, with a help of some political issues surrounding it during the presidential election time but its soundtrack also helped a lot. Let It Go is really well received according to the local music streaming/downloading services. The funny things is even though we have our own Kpop version recorded, it's Menzel's version that is slaying the chart. haha. How long do movies usually play in SK? Do they play until they simply run out of steam, like the US, or do they have a set ending date like China? It just seems like if Frozen is over 4.8 admissions by next weekend that it should easily pass 6.0 if it plays until it just winds down. I just went back to right before Frozen opened, it's just like the Domestic thread. People predict good numbers from a reasonable run, and proceeds to double the highest prediction is just 3 weekends.
Sam
11M for The Attorney :wub:Already past 5M with seemingly a lot left in the tank for Frozen. Really incredible achievement. I hope this success will open doors to more successes for future Disney Animation as well as Pixar.
kayumanggi
FROZEN is really popular. My Korean students are very much aware of it.

Incarnadine
Nearly 200k, looks like a good Monday hold to me. It could be close to 7m going into next weekend. Is that total in US $ right? It was $44.5m for 6m admissions and only $45.4 for 6.2m. That's just $900k for 200k admissions, which would be just $4.50 a ticket rather than the $7.50 I saw earlier in this thread.
