I like the title. It reminds me of 80s sci-fi B-movies like Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone. (But they'll probably just retitle it to "Valerian" in North America though. Though France and several other countries will probably translate the full title.)

Yeah, this movie isn't staying on July 21 2017 barring a delay in Nolan's production. It needs as open a release date as possible, I would suggest mid-August since nothing ever releases there.

EuropaCorp is self-distributing. If this fails, it could conceivably sink them as an independent distributor (a la Raise the Titanic and ITC).

This thing is shaking up to be the biggest bomb of all-time. I am thinking on a 20-25M DOM total right now.

Bresson is a niche director. He can make a profitible film if it has a modest budget ,but his big budget films have been noticible failures.

 

This is going to be another "Jupiter Ascending".

Granted, Bresson is more popular in Europe then he is in America, but still, with the size of the budget for this you need it to do very well in the US. That is not going to happen.

And setting up his own distribution company is asking for trouble. It's not all that easy to do.
