"The Amazing Spider-Man"continues to weave an enticing web at the box office as the superhero has ensnared $59.2 million after two days in theaters.Sony Pictures is anticipating that its 3-D movie will have taken in around $130 million by Sunday, on the low end of what most in Hollywood had originally predicted for the movie's six-day debut. Some industry experts believe the superhero flick could gross as much as $150 million by weekend's end, which would be a good start for a film that cost $230 million to produce

LOL, The whole thing is funny which is why this is a Classic Thread. From yesterday to today, I can't wait for tomorrow. The fact is Spidey is a success, weither you wanted it to fail, thought it was going to fail or whatever. The movie is doing good but it's funny to see the reaction to the daily numbers.

I don't know Ray personally, but in his defense from my POV, today's overall reporting from the studios is one of the craziest days I can remember (and it's not just Sony).

^^^ Not necessarily.. Sony was predicting 120 until yesterday and they have moved it up to 130 while anonymous "analysts" have moved their projections from 120-140 to as much as 150.

Lmao, poor Sony, having to live up to their rival's expectations when said expectations are actually impossible. No wonder they're fudging the daylights out of this! :lol:
