Impact Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Okay they will be up soon. I will be just doing January now and possibly February. Now remember: I will not change the actuals! Also-reveiws don't mean anything. Twilight was a hit. And-something I have been thinking about that I might do is include weather for the actuals. Like "A flood in the South caused drops everywhere" "A snow storm in the Mid West caused some major drops"
Impact Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 As a note-there might not be an exact top 10 the first few weeks as I am using last years holdovers and not all of the weeks have enough films listed...
Killimano3 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Isn't it incredibly rare for weather to effect box office enough for it to matter though?
riczhang Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Isn't it incredibly rare for weather to effect box office enough for it to matter though? Not really sometimes it can have a huge effect, and sometimes even just a few million matter. For example Avatar missed I am Legend's December opening record because of a snowstorm on the East Coast. And in London, the cinemas were fairly empty for about a week due to massive amounts of snow, and nobody wanting to go outside.
Impact Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Well Real Steel did well out here on its OW due to high winds
Impact Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Proof we needed more films in January is coming up
riczhang Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Proof we needed more films in January is coming up Just wait until July and August.
Impact Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Actually the reason is because we don't have enough holdovers to be in the top 10
Killimano3 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) well at least the schedule is packed at the end of the year. 15 films in November. The schedule has four slots filed every single weekend (granted some of those are theater expansions) Edited July 11, 2012 by Killimano3
