"Salvation" has it made. It crushed everything in it's path to make 155 million over its opening weekend. "Kong" still had a nice drop, while many thought "Genesis might fall over 60% due to "Salvation" it still managed a decent drop due to spillover showings and good word of mouth.

May 24-27 (Memorial Day weekend):

Another week, another sci-fi. "Innterconnected 2" managed to have a small increase over the first. It might of been bigger if 2 other major sci-fis did not come out. It still opened great none the less.

10. 51: 1,002,107/1,221,124 (8th week)

May 31-June 2:

The "Storm" swept the box office. Doing well for a historical epic, it debuted with 46.1 million. While its the smallest opening at number one this month that is still great as historical epics tend to not do well, outside of "Titanic" and "Passion" no historical epic is in the top films of all time. "Genesis" had an amazing 5th weekend drop meanwhile.

1. The Coming Storm: 46,064,130 (1st week)

2. Innterconnected 2: 33,024,308 (2nd week) (-57.6%)

3. Salvation: 32,038,866 (3rd week)

4. Karate Kong: 12,754,579 (4th week)

Salvation's got insane legs. at 280M already on weekends alone. Looks like we've found this year's Morrow. :lol:Storm opened a bit lower than expected, hoping for some long legs.

I thought that Genesis would outgross Salvation. Well it still could. Massive month. Bigger than June and July for sure.

In a perfect world it would. :P But people like sequels more than originals now. :P
