Rudolf
So Skyfall was about 10% of the BO in the UK last year $161m of $1.7b. Is that a record? edit: of course not Spain 2009 AVATAR $110m of €671m (corr.) DOM 1977 Star Wars $307m of $2???m Has anyone exact BO number of 1977 DOM or an example, where a movie made significantly more than 10% of a market in a year? edit: I found http://www.screenaustralia.gov.au/research/statistics/archintcompboshare.aspx probably always Titanic in 1998 Australia 1986 Crocodile Dundee had 21.6% of the Australian market Edited March 26, 2013 by Rudolf

With the Avatar exchange (about 1.44$=1€), Spain grossed 970 million $ in 2009. Anyway, Avatar still grossed more than 10% of overall gross.

There is a small difference though, all of that Skyfall gross contributed to the yearly total. On the other hand Avatar made most of its money in 2010. You can consider the year started December 18th, 2009 and finished December 17th, 2010. Avatar did 76 million € in a 365-day period that were grossed about 665-670 million. That is over 11% of total.
