catlover
BOM says it opened with $1.8m in Indonesia. I think that number is for 5 days. If that holds, that is big, summer big. With no competition until March, it can get $4m+, probably enough for top 10 of 2013. Die Hard 4 was in the top 10 for 2007 too (with $1.75m total). So I guess we love this franchise. chasmmi
Watching big things go boom on a crazy style is something that no other film industry has the budget to make. HEre in Korea there are great great domestic films, but even the blockbusters are made for about 12million dollars. Die hard blows things up as good as anybody so should do pretty well overall. IndustriousAngel
Opens today here and in Germany; presales look good but not overwhelming and it remains to be seen how critic-proof it is; reviews were from lukewarm to scathing ("an affront"; "the spectator suffers more than McClane"). In Germany admissions for DH1-4 were: DH1: 1,3mil DH2: 2,0mil DH3: 3,2mil DH4: 2,6mil If I look at presales, beating DH1 should be possible but DH2 numbers will be hard to beat. In Austria, DH4 had 340k admissions in '07, atm I'm expecting half of that for DH5.
JCS
This probably won't do great in Europe but will be good in developing Asian, Latin American markets...etc.
HalloFromGermany
DH5 is doing good business here in Germany. The movie has to deliver in its major markets to pass the $250m. DH4 grossed from foreign countries. The most important markets (the only markets over $10m.) for DH4 were: - Japan: $32m. - UK: $28m. - Germany: $24m. - South Korea: $22m. - France: $20m. - Spain: $11m. IndustriousAngel
In Germany DH5 is not too strong, after an ok opening day WOM seems to be poor. 2mil admissions were the goal as of yesterday but with less than 600k adm. on opening weekend this looks like a stretch. Jonwo
I reckon they'll still make a sixth one, there's no way they'll end the series on a low note.

Tower
Pretty good, unless it gets terrible drops it should pass DH4.
