Rudolf
Oz misses France,Belgium,Netherlands,Sweden,Norway,Finlandbut it already has Japan,Portugal,Indonesia(?)which JC did not have OWJC made 4m in France in OW and 2m in Japan OWJC finished with 210m OS, so Oz could go a little higher 250m maybe Edited March 10, 2013 by Rudolf
IndustriousAngel
500mil WW are still in play but it's obviously a very US-centric performance (nothing wrong about that - if it comes to sequels, Disney might go economic on OS marketing and concentrate on the home market). juni78ukr
Talent and filmmakers did a global press tour across 8 major markets which helped Russia become the lead market with $15M followed by the UK ($5.7M), Mexico ($5.1M), Australia ($5.0M), and Germany ($4.2M). A Marvel Fanboy
Still, 300M looks to be a stretch.
Rudolf
There is a chance of DOM > OS , which would be a surprise for a live-action Fantasy-movie.(I only found Bridge To Terabitha 82>55) Edited March 10, 2013 by Rudolf
A Marvel Fanboy
I think its OS will be bigger than Dom eventually.Probably 45/55 Dom/OS ratio.

juni78ukr
More markets on screendaily "Russia led the way on $15m, followed by the UK on $5.7m, Mexico on $5.1m, Australia on $5m, Germany on $4.2m, Brazil on $3.8m, Italy on $3.6m, Japan on $3.5m, Spain on $2.6m and South Korea on $1.7m." Fake
Apart from Russia.... quite underwhelming.500m is the target. 400m is locked, thanks to domestic.
wileECoyote
Can't say I'm ecstatic with the OS take. I had assumed that it'll do proportionately as well as AiW, but I guess Oz or the stars weren't as well known. Yet. The47th
Apparently they greatly overestimated foreign potential of Oz. Who the hell is Oz? Too few people knew and even less cared. Great and the Powerful? That sounds really lame. The problem is, in some countries they changed the title to make it even more generic and vague. In Spain is something like "Oz: A Fantasy World". Halba
does the budget of $235M include marketing? this has flop written all over it, as OS revenues are terrible edit: yes it does! budget is $235m production. Add another $80m on marketing so its $310m total! with only 470m WW revenues, this is a flop!! Edited March 10, 2013 by Halba
rb02
No, it's not a flop. Boxofficemojo reports a production budget of $215. Since the marketing costs will more or less be offset by the large amount of ancillary revenue that this movie is sure to bring in, it ultimately needs around 400 to 450M to break even. It's going to do that easily. What it won't do, is bring in Alice type profit. But it's certainly not a flop. does the budget of $235M include marketing? this has flop written all over it, as OS revenues are terrible edit: yes it does! budget is $235m production.
