zackzack
Paramount is weak in China. They are uncapable to get WWZ released. The source novel may be offensive to Chinese gov't. Plus the Brad Pitt spat 15 years back or so. Too bad, I am telling you, this movie will absolutely kill in China. This may do very close to PR number. Chinese audience loves their big budget large scale adventure movie. Remember 2012, Titanic?

Of course WWZ will do big number in China if released. Everyone can tell. Too bad it wont release. Paramout had three movies (JR, STID, GIJ2) this year in China. They still get another quota left. WWZ was supposed to be the one. Brad Pitt is NOT the problem for WWZ. At least three Pitt starring movies have been theatical released here. The setting in the novel might be one of the reason that WWZ is not being released but Paramount's weak PR is also to blame. WWZ would be released without a problem if it's a Sony production. masp
World War Z crossed the $300 million overseas mark, not a bad milestone for a film that had plenty of detractors lined up before its release. The $305.2 million overseas total boosts the film past the half-billion mark. The global cume for World War Z $502.6 million. A $2.1 million hold in Spain led the market despite facing off against the opening of Pacific Rim, bringing the Spanish cume for World War Z to $10 million after only ten days in release. World War Z was also the top film in Japan, where it opened to $3.5 million.
