Rsyu
Hopefully Frozen has a successful leggy Japan run. I miss the excitement of waiting for winter daily numbers as Frozen exceeded everyones expectations during its domestic run. Now we'll have some excitement as Frozen attempts to pass TS3 Missed the earlier part of frozen's DOM run (didn't know it existed until Jan 16th) but the consequent run as well as OS performance was pretty thrilling. Hopefully we'll have more of the same from Japan Frozen not passing TS3 should be classed as a major upset at this point. Ray
If the rest of the world without Japan can get it in the ballpark of 1.03B, I think passing Skyfall is where I set the bar for WW with Japan. Below that would be disappointing considering what it's done elsewhere, even though passing TS3 would still be a huge accomplishment. Above that? Gravy. Fullbuster
With $10m OW or more Frozen could pass MU in Japan, and $100m could be reached. It's quite exciting ^^

I don't think IM3 is in reach. Getting into the top 10 would be nice. Passing Dark Night Rises would be fun just because of the Nolan fanboys.
Fullbuster
According to BOM numbers I can see Frozen grossed $85m in Latin America. It's a good number but it's clearly a region where Frozen underperformed compared to the rest of the world, in a usually dynamic and leading area.. Rsyu
International: Frozen is the twenty-fifth highest-grossing film, the fourth highest-grossing animated film, the third highest-grossing 2013 film, the highest-grossing non-sequel animated film and the highest-grossing Walt Disney Animation Studios film. It is the highest-grossing animated film of all time in South Korea, Denmark and Venezuela. It is also the highest-grossing Walt Disney Animation Studios film in at least 50 territories, including the Latin America region (as well as specifically in Mexico and Brazil), the UK, Ireland and Malta, Russia and the CIS, Ukraine, Norway, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and China. Frozen didn't under perform in Latin america, It just looks that way because it over performed everywhere else Edited March 15, 2014 by Rsyu
mfantin65
I think a 10x multiplier is locked for Frozen considering how legs are d'habitude its strong point and its has a couple of holidays helping it. Heck, even a 15x isn't out of question. I'd like to point out that people are all excited for a possible 1B 3-day opening, with 0.3B coming from Friday, apparently - but a number like that would mean an OW of 7M, very close to Doraemon's. So the delirium of a hard-boiled%
portgas
Some photos from a launch celebration event. It really bothers me that all the focus is on Elsa. Come on, it's a movie equally about both sisters. How hard it is to feature them both? Or it's another one of Disney's surprise tactics? Then it makes sense, so people would be surprised by Anna's sophisticated grace. Edited March 15, 2014 by portgas

LABAS
Is that a different theater chain? It's smaller than the Toho theater number you posted earlier. Yes, this is a smaller chain but also one of the major chains. The number in this chain can show the performance of Frozen is smaller cities to some extent. This is a good sign. LABAS
Is that a different theater chain? It's smaller than the Toho theater number you posted earlier. Toho is the dominant chain in Japan, mostly in big cities.

Incarnadine
Hard to figure out all these different number, but let's see if I have this straight. Frozen did about 3 million on Friday, but Friday was some kind of discounted day with ticket prices discounted 40%? Saturday is showing an increase in admissions from Friday, but those are full price tickets, so wouldn't Saturday be significantly more than 3m? Finally, it sounds like Sunday is even stronger than Saturdays in Japan, if that's the case then I can't see frozen under 10m for the 3 days, and it sounds like it could be more, unless I'm misreading things. Basically, you are right. Let's see the latest report from Corpse: The 3D share will be lower than Monsters University, so I think beating its opening weekend of 847 million ($8.2 million) will be tough, but regardless, an opening weekend of ¥800 million ($8 million) is actually possible. And legs during the Spring don't compare to Summer/Winter, but they can still approach a multiplier of 10 (Wreck-It Ralph had a x8.8 last March). So I'd say, if the opening is around ¥800 million ($8 million), it'll be targeting a ¥7-8 billion ($70/80 million) total. Excluding Pixar, that would be by far the highest-grossing Disney animation release beating Dinosaur's long-standing record of ¥4.9 billion. catlover
Wow that is surprising how Frozen could match MU's admission, considering it's not Pixar, it's not a sequel/prequel, and Saturday was its 2nd day as opposed to opening day for MU. I mean, I expected great legs, but not opening this big. Yes, I think $8m 2-day OW is possible, especially if Frozen explodes on Sunday.
