No more New York gifs, they really don't have a place here anymore, it was fun while it lasted, let it go, give it the occasional appearance but let it die out slowly just like the Jennifer Lawrence gifs.

I wouldn't consider LOTR, HP, Twilight, Hunger Games, etc. movie franchises. They're just series of adaptations. They're still media franchises though.

So they're advertising the latest Ice Age turd as 2 million years in the past. The first Ice Age was clearly in the last 20,000 years or so given the HUMANS in the movie. WHAT?!?!?!

14.5m Friday 14.2m Saturday (-2%)10.8m Sunday (-24%) 39.5m weekend That's pretty lousy. Lower than the third movie opened to, despite IA3's Wednesday opening and deflated ID4 frame. The problem was the marketing just pinted it as 'here's another Ice Age movie' without a hook to make the masses really care. Mad3 succeeded because it took the series in a different (and better) direction. The rumored fourth movie where they freeze in ice and thaw out in the present day would have been a more successful concept, IMO.Or maybe families are saving their money for TDKR (don't kid yourselves, parents would take their not incredibly young children to a Batman movie).

Don't over-think it, man. It's not like any of it makes any sense...

So will there be an Ice Age 5? I think there will be but it will probably be the last one. They'll probably find some way to bring the characters to modern times somehow

Even with a sad DOM opening, it's still heading for 850+ worldwide. So, yeah, IA5's happening.
