I do think the time for a "Dark Times" era TV show has come and gone by now.I'd much rather they'd set the TV show during one of the great crisis eras of the Old Republic, which would be a lot more unfamiliar to modern audiences and allow the showrunners to tinker with what the B-level and C-level canon has already established (the comics, video games, sourcebooks, other works such as the Essential Guide to Warfare, etc) to create a coherent A-level canon that fully meshes what the scraps we know from the films.
