None of the creative team of the film had any involvement with the trailer, and considering the writers also wrote the 3 KFP films, I'd stay optimistic until we reveal actual footage.

eh? how have they been ruined by the other Shreks? they're still absolutely brilliant.

Shrek Forever After isn't bad either. Doesn't have the smarts and originality of the first two, but it is still a pleasant enough experience.

 

The Turd tho. It makes some Disney DTV sequels seem like Ghibli classics.

I actually ended up watching Turbo about a year ago and I actually really enjoyed it.

Turbo was received decent in terms of critics. Thank god, it wasn't certified "Rotten".

 

And granted while it wasn't a big-money maker...WW-wise, it did do decent enough to make $282M WW.

 

This one could do a bit better than that film, WW-wise......if only because China is the key factor for preventing Trolls from being a total financial miss.

 

We don't know exactly how the actual film will be. Maybe there is something they aren't telling us right now.

There's no such thing as certified rotten.  Only certified fresh.

Trailer wasn't very funny, which usually isn't a good sign for a Dreamworks film.

Just overexposure. I still like Shrek 2 but it's hard to defend it... its pop culture status has been objectively faded in some ways.

Okay, so a Dreamworks animator has actually gone on to Twitter to flat-out say that this trailer is awful and doesn't represent what the movie will actually be.

Trolls will likely be another write off for DWA, they're lucky that KFP3 will do well or I think Katzenberg would be forced to step down.

Even more hilarious. They should've done what Matt Stone did with the first-cut South Park movie trailer by stealing the footage and holding it hostage until the studio agrees to allow them to cut their own trailer.
