4815162342
It's that wonderful time of the year where we pick what we want to be nominated for the Oscars. A refresher for how this thread works: For each category, list five nominees. Do not rank the nominees, they can be in any order, though alphabetical order is preferred. Also remember that in the two new voice actress categories, men and women can be nominated together. We'll say that this thread will be open for about a week, by the end of Sunday night. On Monday I will move on to the tiebreakers. These are the categories: Best Picture Best Animated Feature Best Director Best Ensemble Best Actor Best Actress Best Supporting Actor Best Supporting Actress Best Voice Actor/Actress in a Leading Role Best Voice Actor/Actress in a Supporting Role Best Original Screenplay Best Adapted Screenplay Best Original Score Best Original Song Best Cinematography Best Film Editing Best Art Direction Best Costumes Best Makeup Best Sound Mixing Best Sound Editing Best Visual Effects Best Use of Action

4815162342
With 3 full ballots completed it's shaping up to be a very spread out year in many categories, though as more lists come in things will get more refined.Impact I won't be adding yours into my document yet since I want to wait until a ballot is completed or is as completed as possible before the deadline. No rush obviously, you have far bigger things on your plate right now.
Impact
Yeah thanks. My other grandma's dead earlier this year caused me to miss out on almost all of year 2.
4815162342
Just for people's reference, once I see a ballot is full I immediately add it to my compilation document. If you had posted a full ballot but then later edited it to change some picks around, please post that you did so and what you changed so I can make the necessary alterations. I don't check to see if people fiddle around with previously completed ballots since that is very time-consuming.

4815162342
4 full lists in (thanks riczhang) and some things are getting clear while some are still very muddled. However I have to say I am disappointed so far by the lack of appreciation for Jeremy Soule as a composer. I mean people in this game have nominated people like Anthony Partos (Year 1) and Angelo Badalamenti (Year 3) for Best Score and I guarantee that the people who nominated them actually had no idea who either of them were (in fact I found no IMDB listing for Partos at all). They were only picked because the films they were nominated were BP nominees. Just me grumbling over people ignoring the best video game music composer of all time.Edit: See that Alfred has posted his list. Will take care of that addition momentarily...and no Soule mention there either. BLARGH. Edited September 28, 2012 by 4815162342
Impact
48-I was thinking-should we have after year 5 a best of the first 5 years Oscars? Edited September 28, 2012 by Impact
The Dark Alfred
Well people putting BP films for score is pretty much in line with the methods of the AMPAS. Not good. My picks weren't based on that. I even regret leaving Atticus Ross out. I had to choose between Spark and Sylvarius and I went with Shore. Sylvarius got the sound noms however. Impact
I almost had him for score-though I'm not sure who that is.
Blankments
Just switched out Michael Giacchino for Jeremy Soule, who I just looked up, and saw his rather interesting discography.I'm disappointed by Last Six not being mentioned much under Cinematography. Whether you like the movie or not, it's the first movie ever in this game to be completely filmed in IMAX, and I feel as though that technical merit alone deserves nomination.
