Frankenweenie was nothing more than Disney's thank you present to Tim Burton for making Alice in Wonderland. It didn't cost much ($39m) so it'll get its money back eventually which is all that matters. It was doomed after Hotel broke out last weekend. Disappointing for Pitch Perfect, even underwhelming for Taken 2 (by no means an underperformance, just underwhelming based on tracking). But the theater was SLOW tonight so I'm not totally surprised.

Thinking estimates pin Taken right at 40m on Sunday, but actuals land around 38.5m to 39m. Based on the 15m Friday of course, and giving some credit to potential Sat dropoff if WOM reflects the reviews. Haven't seen it yet myself.
