Halloween, closely followed by The Thing.

This isn't even close for me. Halloween is one of the 5 best films ever made imo. He has some good films outside of Halloween, but this one is just special.

"The Thing" is easily his best film (in my list), but his second-best film - that's an exciting question. I must admit I have a very soft spot in my heart for "Big Trouble in Little China", it's such an enjoyable ride!

As expected, a close race between Halloween and The Thing. Love em both!Interesting that no one votes for Escape from New York...

I'll provide some of the much-needed Big Trouble in Little China love.

Well, since I was a kid for most of his films, my opinion is gonna end up colored by that.

They Live. Love the campy humor. It also helps that I was a huge Rowdy Roddy Piper fan back then. Never been much of a Halloween or Escape from NY fan. Still haven't watched The Thing all the way through. When I was a kid, I was always disappointed it wasn't about Ben Grimm.

Interesting that no one votes for Escape from New York...

Sure one of his "big" films and a real classic too, but compared to "The Thing" it simply doesn't stand a chance. EFNY is too uneven - some of the acting is good, some atrocious - same goes for set design, costumes ... and the pace is uneven too. There's absolutely nothing wrong with "The Thing"; it's perfect and effective.
