Both the Reddit storyboard seer and 4Chan leaker are saying the Leia recast rumor is legit (unknown if it's Streep though) and will be announced soon.

By the way, found out what was going on with that reddit hilairity. A random troll tried to start a fight on r/StarWarsLeaks by posting all of the above, but the thread looks to have been hidden/taken off the sub.  The  redditors dunking on the troll discussion can still be still be found by following this link:

https://old.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/cpkdd9/alleged_details_from_the_disneylucasfilm_meeting/

Said troll then decided to go to an unrelated discussion on SW Leaks and posted his summary (which was the first tweet Jordan quoted) and got roundly dunked on again.

THEN HE WENT TO SALTIER THAN CRAIT....

And even STC laughed and dunked on him.  :rofl:

Okay, maybe not to the same degree.  But when STC says to you, "Dude, that doesn't seem plausible" you know you gone done messed up.

Critically, however, LOTR shits all over everyone

LOTR films

Its not wrongly worded - if starting out with LotR in general as a basis in a way

LotR franchise... out of Christopher Tolkien's position I think it can be called as such, books, comics, movies (the old solo one, the two trilogies, but only one of those being critically acclaimed / awarded, even in amount no other franchise managed to 'collect'), now an upcoming TV-series.

Not the same people behind it doing the actual filming.... but is that important for Christopher T.? (btw, not a fan of Chr.T.'s work / part)

(the story group doesn't come up with ideas)

((even if it did, Pablo's not in charge of it))

They like using Pablo for the Story Group figure when they cook up these behind the scenes drama porn pieces because he's the only member of the group most of them are aware of.  That and he's every bit as stone jawed on social media as Rian Johnson is when dealing with the more absurd breed of irate fans so he's almost as hated as Johnson and KK are by those sorts.

I know it’s not box office, but the Galaxy’s Edge thing is a a big deal for the franchise because it was a $1b investment($2b for both). We heard endless coverage about Solo’s failure, and that was “only” a $300m investment. Now more than triple that level of spending and anyone is crazy to think Disney wouldn’t want to know what’s going on with the GE underperformance and hold meetings over the issue. GE probably represents the most money a company has ever sunk into an IP at once (rather it be film, tv, game, theme park, etc). Not to say it won’t be successful in the long run, but they would be completely foolish to ignore the current performance and just hope it picks up on its own.

And it IS telling of SW’s relevance in the current pop culture landscape, which thereby relates to box office and what to potentially expect for this film. SW is literally the one and only IP Disney would have ever poured that kind of cash into a theme park land because it was the king of pop culture when the decision was made.

But that has nothing to do with the fanfic/hatefic that the redditor posted.

They took something plausible (meetings over the slight underperformance of GE) and spun it into a ludicrous tale that collapses under the slightest scrutiny.

Like, no one is saying that meeting over Galaxy's Edge couldn't have occurred.  What all of us are doing is dunking on/laughing at the piss-poor attempt to stir trouble and spread FUD.

That's really all that's going on here.

Also the tropes invoked (emasculating power mad woman; fan favorites as white knights trying to save the franchise; controversial person ridiculed behinds scenes) is just soooo over the top as to practically beg ridicule.

Frankly, I almost prefer it that my trolls are better than this.  Makes us look bad that our trolls are so amateurish at the job, ya know?

Can't wait for the next installment when we go behind the scenes of meetings for Rian Johnson's trilogy and D&D's films.

I'll bite.  What part is true.

That we've been lied to all these years by hundreds of authors and that the Story Group comes up with ideas?

That Pablo Hidalgo is the head of said story group, again despite numerous statements from dozens of people otherwise?

That Galaxy's Edge is, and I quote, a failure of such epic proportions that required an emergency meeting?

That Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau were for some reason in a meeting about Galaxy's Edge?

That they both threatened to quit over Kathleen Kennedy's leadership?

Tell, me.  What exactly sounds reasonable about the above, given that Filoni and Faverau have literally nothing to to with the parks?

What exactly rings true here, if I might ask?

Let me remind you that one of the reasons why Lord & Miller got fired were because Kathleen wasn't fond of the socks they wore on the sets...if you believe the trades which you folks take as the ultimate truth regarding rumors and behind the scenes drama.

I am not saying what is being posted by this no name source is true but i won't be shocked if somehow it turns out to be true. Hollywood is full of weird ass/conniving folks who get happy and angry for wishy washy reasons.

My thoughts exactly. They always release first SW cover in August and then another in October or November I think. But now that they are monthly, perhaps just this one.

Wait, that rumor that Favereau is leaving is not true? :badday::whosad:

Can it be a rumor if it never happened?

Aren't rumors things that didn't happen most of the time? made up, misheard, etc? hence phrase "rumors are true for once"? :)
