redfirebird2008
Huh, strange that no one posted TDKR's IMAX weekend in this thread. It made $19m, which is the current record. http://forums.boxoff...k-knight-rises/ Skyfall made $12.75m over its 4-day opening and $10.55m over the opening weekend. http://boxofficemojo...?id=3565&p=.htm Updated Neo's list below to include TDKR, Avengers, Skyfall, Hobbit, and Amazing Spider-Man. DOM 3-DAY WEEKEND: The Dark Knight Rises - 19M The Avengers - 15.3M Deathly Hallows II -15.2M Dark of the Moon -14M Alice 12.2M Deathly Hallows I - 11.8M Mission Impossible 4 - 11M Skyfall - 10.55M The Hunger Games - 10.2M The Hobbit: AUJ - 10.1M Iron Man 2 - 9.8M Avatar - 9.5M Eclipse - 9M Toy Story 3 - 8.8M Star Trek - 8.5M Transformers 2 - 8M On Stranger Tides - 8.2M The Amazing Spider-Man - 6.47M The Dark Knight - 6.3M Shrek 4 - 4.9M Spider-Man 3 - $4.7M Edited December 16, 2012 by redfirebird2008

redfirebird2008
I did an estimate for Amazing Spider-Man. The only report we have is the 6-day IMAX number. But we know how much it made overall for the 3-day vs. the 6-day, so we can use that percentage to figure out a weekend IMAX estimate.http://boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3483&p=.htmIt made $62m over its 3-day weekend compared to $137m for the 6-day opening. This means the weekend represented 45.26% of its 6-day total. It made $14.3m in IMAX over the 6-day opening. Multiply $14.3m by 0.4526 and you get $6.47m in IMAX for the weekend. This places it between Pirates 4 and The Dark Knight on the all-time IMAX opening weekend list. SentryTrans
If there are more than 2,000 IMAX screens, one blockbuster could make about 200m in IMAX format alone.
