Pike may not have the acting chops, but I think she fits who I think the new Leia should look like.

Anna Kendrick. She's only an inch shorter than Carrie Fisher and similar facial structure though she's a bit more petite.Plus the actress has to be a similar age as the Luke actor and Kendrick fits right in the middle of that 28-early 30s age range.
