they probably havent released it yet bc the release is uncertain, but i would imagine that we will learn soon enough if the movie will be released in china

It is possible Eternals won't release in China as director of film has said things about China few years back.

Marvel finally post the trailer a hour later. Still, they are not totally giving up.

 

If I'm not wrong, it's hard to see the name of director and words like "Oscar winner person" even in English trailer or poster.

Looks like Suicide Squad's hopes for a China release just died. I wonder what Disney will do with Zhao, she doesn't seem like the sort who will apologize and I'm guessing her views on Hong Kong sovereignty haven't changed either.

Suicide Squad never had that hope as far as I know. WB China did consider PVOD for it like Snyder Cut.

PVOD never worked in China except Detective Chinatown TV series. So WB did not expect or earn anything from it here. I know some fans saw crazy numbers about Snyder Cut. But those means nothing. Many local stars keep telling press and fans each of their movies or TV shows have 10 billion-plus views with some kind of doubtful count methods

As I mentioned during CNY and GVK, post Pandemic box office gross is inflated by 5-6% due to more online booking, meaning more service charges.

 

FF8 had 5% extra service charges while F9 is 12%.

 

The real gross of FF8 was ¥1276M (¥1352 reported) for weekend while F9 is ¥781M (¥877M reported).

BIG drops each weekday for F9. There is chance of missing ¥1.4B (~$218M). Footfalls can end under 35M.
