Dune cannot defeat TBALC. Most probably, NTTD to dethrone in daily ranking. But, what matters most is the daily drops/increase rate. I am afraid to speak but still have a doubt if it can overtake Hi Mom & WW2? Any opinion?

I too doubt it can  pass ww2 or Hi Mom. Both WW 2 and Hi Mom got their first rmb 100m+ daily gross by 11th-12th day of release but Lake got it by 9th day.

Disney has submitted unreleased movies to Chinese officials for review, but has yet to receive word on several titles, including “Eternals,” according to a person familiar with the matter.

Sony: How much would Spider-Man movie make after local audience missed two or three MCU movies in theaters this year?

if you mean that in a negative way personally i dont think it matters really, its not like everyone who saw shang chi will see eternals , spidey is a big event like an avengers movies, you really think that all the people who saw the avengers movies have seen the first thor ? or antman ? i doubt it.Now on the other hand seeing an mcu movie after all this time may give it a boost. Conclusion i think that at worse spidey wont be affected in a negative way and best case scenario there is a biig boost bc spidey is the first mcu movie in china in 2 years

* second weekend of F7 is the first full weekend due to SUN opening.

Local titles rule first list with a measure of blackout assistance. But the absence of import movies in the second list show the limitation of foreign cultures here.

I mean, we don't have seen a major hollywood blockbuster, especially good one, for a very long time. Maybe Free Guy? So NWH could get boost(at least for opening) by the unusual circumstance.

I wonder if Avatar 2 can make it to list.

It might be too early to say something on this, but I'm not very very optimistic on its box office potential. I believe Cameron would bring me a brilliant experience, but the circumstance right now is very different. Cinema charm is not strong like decades ago. The reasons that top grossers in recent years could be hits are not just good qualities and fanbase. It's about special emotion and fever: national identity(Wolf Warrior 2 ect.), family(Hi, Mom, Furious series), self-reliance/anti-destiny(Ne-Zha, Wandering Earth), nostalgia/farewell(Endgame, Mermaid). For many moviegoers of new generation, these are cinema. Even blockbusters like LORT, HP are somehow too old for them.

Nah not negative.

Increased craving would be helpful actually.

Like this year as you may know is important for CCP and China military but there is somewhat of a lack of military films - and look at the pent-up demand resulting in a mediocre film like ChangJin blowing up. Lol

Similar what Gavin is jokingly saying is that lack of MCU films this yr might cause huge pent up demand for NWH.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but as of now, is there "risk" to Venom 2 or NWH being released in China (have written off Shang Chi and Eternals, of course)? I would think a listing like this on Maoyan, which I don't think Shang Chi ever had, is a good sign but I'm not sure how all this works: https://maoyan.com/films/1358636

Both seems safe as of now.

No that listing don't matter. SC would have one too.
