Simply Put - Movies with Good WoM improved when it is a Holiday (Yes, Pirates has quite a good audience WoM in China) 

 

The local films all showing signs of big flops (despite God of War fudging almost 1/3 of its daily box office) - the effects of bad(or at most average) WoM.

Local producers can complain about their film lack showtimes, but Dangal proved yesterday that despite lack of showtimes - it managed to beat the fudging movie.

 

If China opens up July for Hollywood imports, things will get interesting.

P5 PS multi might expand a bit for day 4

At 6x PS dangal will get close to 60m

Last day of first run is June 4th, still no information about extension.

But if it doesn't get extended, its last day(next Saturday) will be over 20M yuan.

Guardians will finish with 99m unless there is some fudging done(moving few million from pirates to guardians). I dont see a point in giving extension to guardians as its gross is very low.

Looks like 150-155 mill today for Pirates going by a 2-2.30 pm midpoint

 

edit: Its doing 13mill/hour. Better than yesterday at the same moment. Ofcourse evening will be weaker but 100 mill by 4pm is pretty good

It really should have more shows. It's still filling up theaters. It's market % is equal to its show %. Aside from Dangal and P5, all other movies market % are just 20-80% of their shows.

It has slowed just a little but it's going to be over 160M. My guess 165-170M, great hold.
