Movies have always been affected by outside political climate, although international rarely so.

 

This isn't anything new. It's simply weird that it's happening with a blockbuster that has... nothing to say on the subject. It's just what it represents.

11M of those were produced on IMAX screens(500+), besting Warcraft's 9.04M record

Fake said it was 216.5m @ 12pm, and FF8 was 211.6m so it's pulled ahead already. Didn't you learn anything from the domestic opening weekend? Box office is more than 1 day.

IW was at 205.6M @11AM i think.

 

FF8 had especially strong mornings and kept adding 16-18M every hour till 7PM. IW on the hand was slow in the morning and is picking up now. Right now both are basically tied... and I believe it should be able to keep pace with FF8 from here on.

 

On the low end, it should add 90% of what FF8 added from this point, and finish with 400M.
