Meanwhile on the Grace Randolph front...

Gotta love that "Well it's @ 1.2B now and China won't give 800M so 2B not happening" soundproof logic ^_^ Oh well, it'll be "enough of a victory" :P

Nail biter on which one of us is right?  She said no way it was doing $200m, implying it would come nowhere close, perhaps do $150m or less as analysts suggested.  so now, if it does $199m she wins?

people just cant suck it up

FF8 did 487 on Saturday and yet this is only at 456 till 10? Hard to believe it did 30m after 10. The above numbers must be off

I'm using the numbers Olive posted a few hours ago.  Numbers could have been off on Maoyan like OD

After X (time) if AIW behaved like FF8 for rest of the day then it's looking at Y (Sat total)

X=>Y

11 am =>518

12 pm => 519

1 pm => 516

2 pm => 511

I don't know much about Chinese bo but feels doubtful it goes below 480-490 on Sat

One other parameter we can use..... For addition to the Saturday presales figure.... 1/3rd point at 2:30PM, and 1/2 point at 4:30PM.

I am hoping for a 35% jump tomorrow, i.e. 529M. That requires 315M to be added on Sat. So ideally it should be at 214+105 = 319M @ 2:30 PM and 214 + 158 = 372M @ 4:30PM.

Let' see if it can follow that tragectory.

Minimum it should add 300M tomorrow, so the corresponding figures would be 314M and 364M... with a 25M/hour rate.

Well... almost! 316M @2:30PM. So it added 102M for the day so far. Should add another twice that amount for remaining day. 316+204 = 520M finish looking likely (which incidentally is a 35% jump from the revised Friday figures).

Let's reassess at 4:30 PM.

Yes, it's accelerating really fast. It's 37.7M/h now

LOL. It is so much fun reading this thread past 1-2 days. Y'all are like watching horse racing, with hourly or even quarter hourly updates.

Crazy things happen in China. A few years ago, when I first learned that China is forefront (more than most developed countries) in many online and mobile economic activities, I was like "okay, fine" /shrugged. Now I know better. That you can get near realtime box office update is just mind-blowing.

BTW, I hope AIW can do at least 380 USD in China, and surpass TFA in WW BO. It is a well deserved movie to be at that spot.

Pretty crazy its heading for 80 million USD today lol

I dont think any Hollywood movie has made that much in a single day outside of the states?

From one country? Definitely not. I believe the record is either FF8 Saturday or IW yesterday (including MN). It's very close between them depending on IW's actuals.

Maoyan is not so accurate as CBM, very often Maoyan adjusts its numbers based on CBM numbers, so 1 hour's increase on Maoyan is often useless.

Right now at 14:50 CBM shows ¥321.31M, and 23.5M per hour, if the speed remains stable it will reach 478M at 21:30, and probably another 25M where will cume to 503M($79.4M)

CBM is the official APP provided by SARFT (State Administration of Radio, Film and Television), ios users can find it by searching for '中国电影票房' in App Store, not sure about android
