In last 50 minutes added ¥24mn. At this pace, will be around ¥405-410mn at 21:00 compared to ¥370mn yesterday.

Saturday added ¥44mn post 21:00, assuming this add ¥35mn only, that will put Sunday at ¥440-445mn.

Will certainly cross ¥2 Billion today, for cume at ¥2.032 Billion or $301.3 million. FSS only will be ¥1.235 Billion or $183.28 million. If I am not wrong, this will be the biggest weekend ever for a local film.

More curious data: if +$300m in 6 days become true, TWE would be just the 3rd film making it in a single market. The other 2 are TFA and IW in USA (both did it in 5 days)

Not that it make sense, but if a case is to be made, Infinity War 6 days USA in term of ¥2.038 Billion, roughly what TWE made in China but then A:IW had almost 7 days as it made $40mn in Thursday midnight.

TFA made 363mn in 7 days or say $325mn in 6 days excluding $38mn Wednesday, exchange rate of that time would give ¥2.106 billion.

Again, I don't know if that make sense or not.

At 21:00 CST TWE at ¥400mn. That's good but added only ¥5mn in last 30 minutes. Final day will be ¥410mn Approx but final number will be adjusted to ¥408mn tomorrow.

Yeah probably decelerated rapidly because tomorrow is a working day. What a waste...

At the specialty box office, the Chinese sci-fi epic The Wandering Earth impressed with an estimated $1.6 million from 65 theaters in 39 markets. Timed to Chinese New Year celebrations, the movie posted a location average of nearly $25,000, the best of the weekend.

What does 39 Markets mean in this case, I'm assuming we're talking about 39 different cities across US and Canada?

Its also released in at least one cinema e.g. in Australia (as @DeeCee told of added screenings there)

They say 65 theaters, I think I read 33 of those are in the US (maybe US and CAN not sure)

What is with e.g. Hong Kong?

39 states make more sense. Besides I have asked for USA numbers, will make it clear.

edit to add:

out of the Forbes article about Wandering Earth

Quote

It actually played in limited release in North America (IMAX only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then a little wider on Friday), and, yes, I saw it on Thursday.

Pretty much exactly what you were saying, yes. The theatre Listed for Toronto is about 15 minutes from my house. That area of the city has a very large Asian population.
